The ASME Petroleum Division Awards Committee, would like to invite you to attend our 2012 Petroleum Industry Awards Gala this November 9th. This event honors individuals and companies who have made significant contributions to our industry in recent years and raises funds for our scholarship programs that encourage aspiring engineering to keep the pipeline flowing for our industry.
We are extremely excited this year to be honoring individuals along with an oil company at the awards ceremony to be held at the Hilton Americas.

Frank C. Adamek, P.E., Executive Chief Engineer Drilling & Production Systems, GE Oil and Gas, will receive the Rhodes Petroleum Industry Leadership Award. This award was established to recognize significant contribution to the petroleum industry demonstrated through management and motivational skills, entrepreneurship, innovative methods and outstanding leadership within the corporate structure and in the industry as a whole.

Tom Bailey of Weatherford is the recipient of the Silver Patent Award. Patents are a major achievement in the career path of a petroleum mechanical engineer. ASME's petroleum division seeks to encourage and recognize engineers holding patents.
Dr. Warren Waggenspack of Louisiana State University will be awarded the Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award. Created to honor those faculty who demonstrate remarkable commitment to their students in pursuit of a mechanical engineering education and career.
The Keith Thayer Exceptional Early Career Engineer Award will be presented to Jason Strouse of WGIM. Presented in recognition of outstanding dedication, effort and performance by an early career professional. |
ASME-PD also will honor the Shenzi Field Development of BHP Billiton Petroleum with the Project Excellence Award. The Shenzi Field is an ultra-deepwater heavy oil development located in the BC-10 block in the northern Campos basin offshore Brazil. The project is a joint venture between Shell, Petrobras, and ONGC.
The black tie optional awards gala not only will honor these individuals and team members, but the proceeds of the evening will go to support the Petroleum Division’s student scholarship and educational efforts. Each year, the Division provides more the $350,000 in direct and indirect support of student programs.
